Born Again, M.J.M.

In the year 1978, my life as I had known it to that point came to an abrupt end through a most dramatic circumstance. The Lord wanted me to experience a new life. I experienced a very severe dirt-bike accident, and as a result, I received the Lord and was born again.

My old life came to an end, and the Lord desired a new life to be built into me. After a three month stay in the hospital, a time of newness began. The Lord put into me a question concerning whether I was in His true intent.

The search began. First, I began finding verses which contained certain words such as: Spirit, life, resurrection, newness; and began copying the reference on paper. Once finished, I would return to each verse and re-read each one for content. Eventually, light definitely came! Attracted by His beauty, I read the New Testament again and again, each time the Lord impressing a newness in me. Praise the Lord, the Old Testament soon followed. I read the Old Testament approximately 10 times and the New Testament 17 times.

As the Lord was filling me with Himself, I had to find a church that matched His teachings. Because of the Lord’s sovereignty, I was in Oklahoma City in 1985. The local church there would hang a big banner on the top front of the building. My curiosity was aroused. The banner was simply a portion of scripture concerning God’s eternal purpose. I visited there and found my destiny.

During my days of wandering, the Lord graciously gave me time also to read books such as The Normal Christian Life and Release of the Spirit by Watchman Nee which helped a great deal in my Christian life.

Then my life began
